I suspect there will be an impact on the running slaves from that upgrade. https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/SECURITY/Jenkins+Security+Advisory+2013-01-04 discusses a security change which was made after 1.427, which I believe may affect your upgrade scenario. https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-16273 describes more details that may help you.
