I have significantly refactored the way that tokens are managed by email-ext in the upcoming 2.29 release. I would like to get some people to test in their environments before I do a full release. If anyone is interested, please grab the hpi from http://earl-of-code.com/jenkins-dev/email-ext.hpi. This version significantly improves the content token setup (utilizing the TokenMacro plugin much more) and I think it cleaned the code up quite a bit.
After 2.29, I plan on completely refactoring the trigger mechanism into an extension point so that other plugins can implement email triggers.
