Both validation and polling do not get full environments, which is why they aren't being replaced. This means you can't use EnvInject for that. I've been struggling with finding ways of fixing it, but as near as I can tell, most plugins only support build parameters such as those provided globally by jenkins or the masked passwords plugin.
