We have the following setup:
A maven native job to do main compile and unit test A parameterised maven native job to create a distribution from the main job 3 separate matrix test parameterized jobs to test the distribution. What we want to do is to promote the main job on success of the matrix test jobs. As far as I understand it, fingerprinting isn't supported on matrix jobs, so they have to be "direct" child jobs. I was using the join plugin; Main triggers distribution, main uses join to trigger 3 parameterised matrix test jobs when distribution had completed. The matrix test jobs were shown as being started by both the main and distribution jobs. When everything completed successfully the main job was shown as promoted. However after updating to Jenkins ver. 1.459 <http://jenkins-ci.org/> and Join plugin 1.14, the behaviour appears to have changed and my test jobs are no longer triggered. Setting up simple jobs it would trigger the jobs, but the bottom job indicated it was started only by the middle job. Is there another way I can promote the main job or is this change in behaviour a bug?
