IIUC, you'd like to have a dedicated icon, like the ones provided by the BTB plugin where the red arrow I added points (yeah, beautiful, I know)?
If so, that's indeed a good idea. At least I like it. I don't know if there's already an extension to be able to override that image, I doubt it. But I guess that could be the part needed in core (adding the EP), and keep indeed the icon handling part in BTB.
I'll try to have a look.
