I respect not wanting to bloat out a plugin with unused functionality, but I still don't fully understand why you don't want envinject to have the ability to transform the environment variable names to remove invalid characters, given that it's what's doing the env var injection. Would you recommend that this functionality be introduced in a new/separate plugin that works in tandem with envinject, or actually put into Jenkins core?
Thanks again for all of your work on this plugin.
