Was this on a bare bones XEmacs installation with nothing but the xemacs-base and efs packages installed? The problems I experienced were not functionality issues with jde, but feature dependencies that were not met by a very minimal XEmacs installation. I suspect those dependencies exist even when jde + friends are installed manually. I'm attempting to document those dependencies. robert
