Hello Janie, When the message with the attachment is open, try pressing insert with a to bring the attachment into view or tabbing to the attachment itself and pressing shift with f10 or the applications key on it. I am thinking that this should bring up a context menu where one of the options will be save. I have not used Windows live mail myself but this is just a guess that I hope will help.
