Hi.

If you try to do this shortly before the next version of JAWS is released that you won't have a license for, the cost should be around $160. maybe they won't always have that sale but it seems to me they have done it for a couple years now. When you get the letter in the mail letting you know that this is the last version you can use on your SMA, that letter will probably mention the savings if you want to activate it right then.

Also, you already know that you'll be good for 2018 and 2019 both before you have to spend that again right?

I personally think the up front cost of purchase is high, but I feel the cost of the SMA especially in the sale price window is pretty reasonable, at least for the home use one. 80 dollars for a year is pretty doable for most folks.

Good afternoon, Russ, Brian Zolo here in Columbus, Ohio feel free to call me
BZ, grin! My wife and I just upgraded from jaws 18 to jaws 2018 and we did
it through the jaws home use program. It only cost us $200and we went
through Hal Knight with vfo-group sales. Hal can be reached at
1-800-444-4443 and select extension 1101. Hal was great to work with and
got us set up with the home use program. He'll look up your jaws serial
numbers for your products. He'll ask you to verify your serial numbers but
he certainly does an excellent job. VFO-group needs to publicize this
program more as I had heard about it but they don't say much about it on
their site. I had asked Eric Damery as it would have cost us much more to
upgrade our products and then buy an SMA and that's when Eric got us in
touch with Hal Knight concerning the home use program. Don't hesitate to
let Hal know that I referred you to him. Hope that this information will
help you out. Let me know how things go. Have a great week1 BZ!

Wow, I didn't think it would cost that much if you are one version behind.

I would also have him check with VFO because my SMA ran out with 18. When I
called about getting one for 2018, they told me that I had to buy the
current version of 2018 and an SMA for 2019 and 2020. This was going to cost
me over $400, so he will definitely have to see what his situation is with
them.

able to updade to JAWS 2018?
