Yeah....when I first got this computer I quickly set the UAC notification to 0%. After a while of installing programs and doing other things with the system, I kind of realised how those notifications were there to help me. All it is is one one extra keystroke. And if you end up in a situation where a program tries to do something with admin rights and you think it shouldn't have them, you might be very glad the notification is there. Although someone said above that in Windows 10 (which is what I have), setting to 0% actually prevents any of this potentially unwanted stuff from happening without notifying you .... from what I recall, that wasn't actually my experience. I guess I could do some more experimenting, though.

You may need to disabling scanning in Windows Defender after you adjust UAC. Type UAC in your search Box. Select User Account in the results. 3. Use the slider and select "Never Notify". 4. Hit Ok. 5. Reboot your PC for the setting to take effect. Note: I don't know if this still works in build 1709; I don't disable it since it helps protect against malicious program installation.
