Leonard: I should have been clearer about a few points in my earlier update.
I did try Narrator and NVDA, and experienced the same sluggishness and speaker static issues. I also experienced them with earlier versions of Jaws. Fortunately, I've been working on things now for about a half hour, and everything seems to be back to normal. Not sure why checking the control sound configurations and re-doing the docking station interface could have solved the problem, but I seem to be ok once again. If you have an earlier version of jaws see if you still get the static noise and if you have the same problem with lag time when typing and Also you might want to try to unload your current version of Jaws and bring up near raider type something in notes or some other editing program and see if you get that lag time that you talked about that you were getting in jaws v2018.
