Look into spans and line, or sentence, delimiters and tokens, and
position increment gaps.  Google will help you.  You can do a whole
lot of stuff with spans - see
http://www.lucidimagination.com/blog/2009/07/18/the-spanquery/ for a
good intro.

Lucene 2.9 is ancient. You should upgrade.
