A normal analyzed field is sufficient for span queries.  Term vectors
are not needed for any of the built-in Query classes.  The term
vector stuff is more sophisticated techniques, not normal querying.
And they aren't necessary for highlighting either.  Unless you have
something fancy in mind specifically requiring term vectors (latent
semantic stuff, for example) you're better off without 'em.
