Okay, then thanks for catching this.

I thought it might be special because (1) the XML namespace is
pre-declared, and (2) it has meaning for an XML parser, not for the
application (unless, of course, the application chooses to overload
the meaning).

I guess the same applies for xml:lang, xml:base and xml:id.
