I am using JAXP and indeed my first thought was that the machines showing
the incorrect behaviour did not have xerces-2.7.1.jar in the lib\endorsed
directory. But I have searched every JVM on the machines with the erroneous
behaviour and all have xerces-2.7.1.jar in the lib\endorsed folder :-/

Thanks,

Chris
