I can't change terminal etc and interact with active one. [Geoffroy] We can definitely see Weston and start a terminal under VMware. Make sure that 3D acceleration is turned on for Workstation because otherwise it Weston won't start. Please also note the tip in case you are running VMware Workstation under Linux on a system with an Intel Graphics card -- https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/IVI/IVI_3.0_VMware#Setting_up_VMware.C2.AE_on_your_host I use Linux Ubuntu 13.10 as VMWare Workstation doesn't see my integrated sound card. So am I right thinking that I can't run Tizen IVI apps when host sound card is not exposed to guest OS? [Geoffroy] I guess if VMware does not see your soundcard then it won't be able to expose it to the Virtual Machines. Note however that until the Tizen IVI 3.0-M2-Jul preview, the Tizen kernel did not include the sound card driver required to recognised the sound card emulated by VMware... this is now fixed if you try this latest release. I also will be very thankful if someone will propose a way to create environment to run and test Qt and Qt apps on Tizen IVI (maybe VM is not the best for this case). However I need to use Windows for development because VMWare Player is free for non commercial use and Workstation is not. Don't you know if VMWare Player HW graphics acceleration support is going change in the future? [Geoffroy] Both VMware Player and Workstation should work fine under Windows. VMware Player lacks Gfx HW acceleration under Linux but I don't know if/when this would change. This is a question that should be asked to the VMware folks I guess.
