I will retry the steps Brittany did to see if I can collect more information 
from the logs, etc.

In regards to the library 'netty_transport_native_epoll_x86_64', I found some 
information here regarding the pom.xml dependency,

I pulled down the zookeeper source for apache-zookeeper-3.6.2, and I see this 
in the pom.xml, which does not contain the classifier:

In a different project I work on, I see that I have the 
netty-transport-native-epoll-4.1.48.Final-linux-x86_64.jar file which contains 
META-INF/native/libnetty_transport_native_epoll_x86_64.so

What is the process for getting the 
netty-transport-native-epoll-4.1.50.Final-linux-x86_64.jar file?

My laptop is Windows 10, I will have to investigate what it takes to try are 
replicate the environment locally.  I have only recently come on board with 
Brittany on our Zookeeper implementation and have only worked with our Linux 
VMs environment to date.
