The current test matrix with 1.33 added now spans all versions from 1.24 to
1.33. Each version takes about 35 minutes to test. This is a lot of overhead in
testing.
The K8s versions that are not the oldest and not the latest add some certainty
and confirmation around compatibility. However the chance that a "in between"
version breaks and not the oldest or newest version is rather small.
Reducing the matrix for our PR runs to a subset would not be to problematic. We
can even add a scheduled job to run the full range of versions once a week
against the latest master. Tracing back breakages is than limited to a smaller
set of changes.
