Hyukjin Kwon created SPARK-61176:
------------------------------------
Summary: Keep the sign of a negative year-month interval of less
than a year in the collected values of the Rust client
Key: SPARK-61176
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-61176
Project: Spark
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Connect
Affects Versions: connect-rust-4.3.0
Reporter: Hyukjin Kwon
The Rust client renders a collected year-month interval as "<years>-<months>"
with format!("{}-{}", months / 12, (months % 12).abs()). Rust's / and %
truncate toward zero, so a negative interval of less than a year loses its
sign: INTERVAL '-1' MONTH (-1 month) is collected as "0-1", the value of +1
month, and -11 months as "0-11". Only -12 months and below keep their sign
("-1-1" for -13).
DataFrame::collect() of the Rust API returns these strings. The value should
keep the sign of the interval, as Spark's "-0-1".
