Hyukjin Kwon created SPARK-61069:
------------------------------------
Summary: Collect TIMESTAMP_NTZ values, distant timestamps and
year-month intervals in the Rust client as PySpark does
Key: SPARK-61069
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-61069
Project: Spark
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Connect
Affects Versions: 5.0.0
Reporter: Hyukjin Kwon
collect() in the Python client of the Rust Spark Connect client differs from
PySpark 4.3.0: TIMESTAMP_NTZ values are shifted by the client's UTC offset when
the client time zone is not UTC (with TZ=America/Los_Angeles,
timestamp_ntz'2020-07-01 12:00:00' collects as 05:00), timestamps far from the
epoch lose a microsecond to a float conversion
(timestamp_micros(9223372036854775) collects as .854776), and year-month
intervals collect as strings where PySpark raises PySparkNotImplementedError
NOT_IMPLEMENTED.
