I went over the discussion in [SOLR-17715](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-17715) and the related code to jog my memory of the issue. I agree descoping SolrQuery.setRequestHandler out of this effort is the right call, aka it can stay deprecated. I don't have enough knowledge about subquery or the streaming solrj client to be able to say whether we can do away with "qt" entirely in the future, and consequently deprecation of "qt" as a parameter altogether. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
