David Smiley commented on SOLR-16525:
-------------------------------------
I'm saying that, for this JIRA issue, we needn't be picky on the nature of the
underlying benchmark's strengths. Getting this JIRA across the finish line
involves higher level coordination concerns. A higher level framework
supporting multiple Solr versions w/ HTML published results (perhaps that might
be search-benchmark-game), and operational concerns to run it and publish it
somewhere. As to what exactly we're measuring... well... _whatever_ (I'm saying
it doesn't matter). We measure a reasonable number of things in solr/benchmark
already – it's certainly a start. If we manage to embrace *both*
search-benchmark-game _and_ solr/benchmark *_together_* for their relative
strengths, _perhaps_ someone will either add a Gatling option to
search-benchmark-game, or _perhaps_ someone may write a concurrent load test in
solr/benchmark. JMH certainly wouldn't prevent such.
