Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-14361:
------------------------------------
Slow down the veto wand please 😉
This is a first POC demonstrating strengths of a custom bootstrap class and the
simplicity of a pure java based configuration. If you read the SIP document and
dev thread, the vision is to give users choice, although this first POC PR is a
pure Java impl.
It is possible to add some factory classes, so the web.xml route one possible
impl, for those who prefer it, or users could wire in their own custom
alternative pure Java bootstrap logic.
But the most important feature of SIP-6 is the custom Main-class, so Solr can
have a say on the very first init, before Control is handed over to Jetty.
More examples to come.
