The forced distributed would anyway enable the shard call [(isShard=true)](https://github.com/apache/solr/blob/main/solr/core/src/java/org/apache/solr/handler/component/SearchHandler.java#L565). > then why wouldn't the logic just pass-through as normal The `process()` method is directly communicating with the Searcher as we need to process each query at the shard searcher level.
