Houston Putman commented on SOLR-17718:
---------------------------------------
So yeah, I did the upgrade because I was seeing weird byte buddy warnings when
running the tests with JDK24. After the upgrade, the tests ran happily with
JDK24, but I didn't test with JDK25, so sorry about that. I think there are
more recent versions of byte buddy, but I think we would need to upgrade it
independently of Mockito (it hasn't upgraded yet
[https://github.com/mockito/mockito/pull/3576]). But the new version of
ByteBuddy should support java 25 fine. Let me try upgrading it independently.

> Test that use Mockito (currently) fail in jenkins jobs using JDK 25 due to
> the following underlying error...
> {noformat}
> Caused by:
> java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Java 25 (69) is not supported by the
> current version of Byte Buddy which officially supports Java 24 (68) - update
> Byte Buddy or set net.bytebuddy.experimental as a VM property
> at net.bytebuddy.utility.OpenedClassReader.of(OpenedClassReader.java:120)
> {noformat}
> Note that this happens during the call to {{Mockito.mock(Foo.class)}} -- even
> in tests that preceed all use of Mockito w/ our custom
> {{SolrTestCaseJ4.assumeWorkingMockito()}}
