+1 to the inheritance problem [~dsmiley] .. I just missed your update as I was
typing the above... I also found that directly extending IndexSearcher to be
inflexible here, i.e. need to create two SolrIndexSearchers to fully bifurcate
multithreadedness just to appease this self-imposed contract.
