@pvcnt @dsmiley I think there should be a follow-up PR that addresses the replica placement plugin. My understanding is that from a user's perspective, the configuration of solr.xml wrt. the placement plugin would remain as it is, but the internal mechanics of instantiating the RPP factory would change to align with this PR.
