Thank you for digging into this...! 

SolrCLI status is a slightly weird one, in that we don't expect end users to 
ever use the -solr (or, for that matter -solrUrl) option.

I believe the change was made to be inline with the SolrCli create command, 
which has " -solrUrl <HOST> "
