The scripts are heavily biased towards gnu utilities, not genetic unix.  There 
are probably other OS platforms that should use the options for ps that you 
have created here.  Maybe AIX and some others.  I wonder if there might be a 
more generic way of detecting systems that don't use gnu system utilities.  
What happens if you run the following command on your OS?  Using two dashes for 
options is mostly a gnu invention, so I wouldn't expect the IBM version to take 
it:
