Jan Høydahl edited comment on SOLR-15731 at 10/28/22 11:45 AM:
---------------------------------------------------------------

Over in SOLR-8680 the goal seems to be producing an uber-jar for use with JDBC,
that is its own artifact in our tarball and includes the JDBC driver along with
all the solrj stuff it needs to function. So that is kind of the opposite of
the goal of this JIRA, to slim down SolrJ.

So this discussion should perhaps be held in SOLR-15730, i.e. should
{{solrj-all}} be that uber-jar for use by JDBC folks? Is there then a benefit
to anyone to have a separate {{solrj-jdbc}} if it cannot be used in e.g.
Zeppelin ootb, maybe it just confuses? I'm positive to closing this if the jdbc
driver can just as well remain in {{solrj-streaming}} and be used thorugh
{{{}solrj-all{}}}.  [~jbernste]?
