After looking through bin/solr for some guidance, I added this to
/etc/default/solr.in.sh:

SOLR_MODE="solrcloud"
{code}
And now I get an exception when starting Solr:
2022-08-11 17:36:27.910 ERROR (main) [ ] o.a.s.c.SolrCore null =>
org.apache.solr.common.SolrException: Cannot start Solr in cloud mode - no
cloud config provided
I have looked at the code and cannot figure out what else I need.
