Jason Gerlowski commented on SOLR-15086:
----------------------------------------

Since the SIP-12 work has wound down, I'm going to close out this umbrella jira.

The only piece that remains unimplemented is the support for Microsoft's ABS
blobstore, which I don't think anyone had plans to pick up in the near future.
I'll leave that ticket open, but remove it from this umbrella. As far as I
know, there's no blocker to someone tackling ABS down the road - it's just a
much less used system than GCS and S3 which we already have support for.

> SIP-12 proposes a variety of changes to the way that Solr implements its
> backup/restore functionality. Support for incremental backups, common
> proprietary "blob stores", corruption detection, etc.
> This ticket is intended as an umbrella ticket for each of those changes or
> for ongoing discussion about the SIP as a whole, now that the DISCUSS thread
> has wound down. Individual pieces of the SIP will be handled as independent
> sub-tasks.
