David Smiley commented on SOLR-15600:
-------------------------------------

I suggest a "submit a PR" type of contribution for users to self-submit,
including with the possibility of a logo. That's what I did for my employer,
Salesforce. Of course we can't and shouldn't try to vet authority for a
contributor who is submitting the image; we don't for code contributions
either. For the _existing_ images, I'm unsure how they all got there except
for Salesforce. Does a LucidWorks employee know -- [~ctargett]? I recall our
current site was funded by LW so that's why I ask.

> Move Powered By logos to separate page

> See email from ASF. Solr is in violation of a policy:
> {quote}IMPORTANT: PMCs who list "powered by" companies on their Project sites
> (organizations that are using your project --in their products/solutions or
> otherwise) MUST NOT BE DOING SO ON THE PROJECT HOME PAGE.{quote}
> The reason Solr has not been "detected" until now is that solr was a sub page
> of lucene.apache.org but now the page with the illegal logos is on the HOME
> PAGE of solr.apache.org :)
>
> It should be easy to just put the "powered by" section on a sub page instead
> of on the HOME page of our site.
>
> This should be done within September 2021.
