First spotted by [~krisden] on 
[https://github.com/apache/solr/pull/131#pullrequestreview-670778145] for 
SOLR-15410.

When using an OpenJ9 JVM Solr starts correctly on branch_8x, but it does not 
start on main (9.0), producing the following error in the logs

For some additional context, a similar issue was previously reported on 
SOLR-14598 against 8.6, and was resolved by SOLR-14404
