@jorisvandenbossche There was a discussion on the Iceberg PR, which @rdblue explicitly asks to remove the lon/lat enforcement because it overrides what the CRS says. I don't have a strong opinion either way. But I do want to point out that maintaining the compatibility between GeoParquet and Parquet Geo is not a goal anyways.
