Gargi-jais11 opened a new pull request, #582:
URL: https://github.com/apache/ozone-site/pull/582

   ## What changes were proposed in this pull request?
This PR refreshes the S3 API user guide
(docs/04-user-guide/01-client-interfaces/03-s3/01-s3-api.md) so it matches the
current S3 Gateway behavior in apache/ozone (hadoop-ozone/s3gateway), as
tracked in [HDDS-16564](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDDS-16564).

Corrections to stale or misleading content

   - Documents partial conditional request support (GET/HEAD, CopyObject source
preconditions, DeleteObject If-Match, PutObject/CompleteMultipartUpload
If-Match and If-None-Match: *) and removes the old “planned / HDDS-13117”
wording.
   - Moves bucket lifecycle out of “roadmap” language into a dedicated
operations table; notes Expiration, AbortIncompleteMultipartUpload, filters,
and that Transition is not implemented; links to the admin Object Lifecycle
guide and ozone.lifecycle.service.enabled.
   - Splits ACL coverage: Get/Put bucket ACL (user grantees only; group
grantees → NotImplemented), object ACLs in the not-implemented table, and
x-amz-acl ignored on PutObject.
   - Updates GetObject/HeadObject error behavior (structured NoSuchKey XML on
GET; bare 404 on HEAD).
   - Fixes DeleteObject (204 for missing keys; 412 for failed If-Match).
   - Replaces the incorrect 7-day multipart auto-abort note with
ozone.om.open.mpu.expire.threshold (default 30d) and lifecycle
DaysAfterInitiation.
   - Documents ListBuckets pagination (max-buckets, continuation-token) and
ListObjects v1 vs v2 on the same endpoint, including fetch-owner for v2.

   **New or expanded API coverage**

   - Bucket lifecycle, bucket ACLs, ListDirectoryBuckets, GetObjectAttributes
(dedicated section plus partial-limitations note), UploadPartCopy,
Range/partNumber on GET, FSO directory PUT (ozone.s3g.fso.directory.creation),
Health check (/health/live, /health/ready on the admin port), and Getting
started via OZONE_DATANODES / run.sh -d.
   - STS: AssumeRole and GetCallerIdentity on a separate endpoint (port 9880),
disabled by default (ozone.s3g.sts.http.enabled), with a link to the admin STS
page.
   - x-amz-expected-bucket-owner / x-amz-source-expected-bucket-owner in
Additional Notes.
   - Clarifies presigned URLs as SigV4 query authentication accepted by the
gateway for supported operations.

    **Not implemented / in progress**

   - Table of unsupported APIs (with AWS doc links where applicable), including
Object Lock ([HDDS-15945](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDDS-15945),
design discussion) and bucket versioning APIs (implementation phase, [design
doc](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uT3Hzss5gJkiuxzzeZYVUB_UqjSbqROUApY5pH6k8TI/edit?usp=sharing)).
   - SSE-S3/SSE-KMS/SSE-C, S3 Select, replication, and notifications; Ranger
KMS / TDE pointer retained.

   - [ ] .github/scripts/spelling.sh
   - [ ] pnpm build (Docusaurus; no broken links/anchors reported)
   - [ ] Content cross-checked against S3 Gateway handlers on apache/ozone

RootEndpoint, lifecycle/ACL handlers)
