Multipart Upload (MPU) operations span multiple discrete stages (initiate,
upload parts, and complete). To preserve WORM guarantees on single-version OBS
buckets, OM must guard against overwriting locked objects at each stage of the
MPU lifecycle, handle concurrent lock applications, and ensure the newly
assembled object inherits or applies the designated retention settings upon
completion.
