# Summary [NIFI-16366](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-16366) Improves validation and authorization handling for updates to Controller Service references. Improvements include ensuring that the request identity identifier matches the request URL identifier and adding evaluation of referencing components based on current configuration. This approach avoids unexpected behavior for mismatched values.
