   # Summary

   [NIFI-15085](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-15085) Removes
support for OCSP certificate validation from the application security
framework. NiFi 2.4.0 deprecated support for OCSP certificate as described in
[NIFI-14490](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-14490) indicating plans
for removal in subsequent minor version releases. OCSP validation was not
configured by default and applied only to X.509 client certificate
authentication.

Changes include removing all references to `nifi.security.ocsp.responder`
properties, and removing dependencies from the `web-security` module that are
no longer needed with the removal of OCSP certificate validation.

The removal of OCSP certificate validation allowed for simplifying the
`X509AuthenticationProvider`, removing unnecessary references to collaborating
classes.
