Thanks for filing this issue and describing a potential solution [~jfrazee]!
The core problem seems to be the fact that jna-platform is already a dependency
of nifi-bootstrap, through nifi-bootstrap-utils. The current assembly
configuration apparently detects the reference for nifi-bootstrap-utils, and
then skips it when evaluating the transitive dependencies through
nifi-property-protection-factory and the Azure implementation. Updating the
assembly configuration sounds like a workable solution. I am going to take a
look at removing jna-platform from nifi-bootstrap-utils, since it is only used
for Process ID retrieval on Windows, on Java 8, and the resulting references
still require a Linux or macOS platform. Removing the dependency from
nifi-bootstrap-utils would be an indirect solution, but it could be cleaner
than having to force jna-platform to be included in both lib/bootstrap and
lib/properties.
