This is not a can of worms I want to reopen. The decision to move off plexus
was already made. Let's stick with it rather than swapping back and forth every
couple of years. A lot of progress has been made in maven-shared-utils that is
not reflected in plexus-utils, and many dependencies have already been moved to
maven-shared-utils, even if the job is not yet done. I do not want to spend yet
more time backporting all that work into plexus.
Perhaps most importantly plexus is in a weird half-supported state with no
clear ownership or governance. It is not an Apache project. Codehaus is
defunct. It is not the way forward.
