Good stuff! Under option 1 (try the man pages), though, I would
suggest adding something like the following at the end of the section:
If you don't know the exact command you need, try using
apropos (man -k on some systems) to get a list of commands
that do have man pages available.
It used to be fairly common on large systems (ISPs and corporate
systems) to install a "help" command, which would give short
system-specific help or maybe a pointer to how to use the man
command (for more info, type ...) Users of nonunix systems might
think of typing "help" if they're at a loss, but no one would ever
think of typing "man man" without being shown first.
A "help" command that called up your "man rtfm" entry would be just
the ticket. This ought to be made a standard part of linux
distributions ...
