This sentiment is oft-expressed in exasperation of the alledged moronic masses
which have invaded the once alledgedly pristine Internet through the
wide-spread access offered by AOL. The theory is that AOL caters to the lowest
common denominator, allowing anyone who with a modem and who can point and
click access to a formerly exclusive environment. The same can be said of
Windows.
However, having been around the Internet since before AOL had anything more
then email access to the Internet, I haven't seen much increase in the
moronity that was already present in the Internet, just perhaps more
wide-spread awareness of it. There were idiots before AOL, there will be
idiots after...
