When I first set up these lists, I set the configuration so that any
su*bscription or un*su*bscription request that was sent to the actual
lists would be bounced to my inbox, rather than sent to all of you.

That was all well and good.

Some stuff on the server that hosts LinuxChix.org has recently been
changed, however, and it appears that the bounce filter that took care
of this stuff has been tuned to a point of over-sensitivity. As a
result, it appears that any message containing any word that begins with
"su*b" or "un*s" (without the "*") will be bounced.

This is, of course, completely unacceptable. I've contacted the system
administrator to see if this can be fixed. In the mean time, I'm going
to shut off that option in the list configurations, because (to be
frank) I'm getting sick of forwarding on messages that were bounced for
no good reason :> This is no one's "fault" of course...it's just that
computers are notoriously good at doing _exactly_ what we tell them to
do, in a rather relentless and cold-hearted manner :>

Unfortunately, once I switch that bit of the configuration off, you may
receive messages from people who erroneously send su*bscribe and
un*su*bscribe requests to the list. I know that this can be annoying
because it's basically spam, but right now the bounce filter is causing
more harm than good. Please be patient while I try to track down and
get the problem fixed).

Thanks.
