This isn't a Zope vs PHP argument, because I don't know a thing about
Zope besides the written-in-python factoid, BUT:

In case you're saying that PHP doesn't have support for SQL databases,
it does ... for example:

dBase
Informix
Microsoft SQL Server
mSQL
MySQL
Oracle
Sybase
PostgreSQL

PHP4 (currently in 3rd Beta) has increased support for objects, as well
as built-in session functions. While 99% backwards-compatible with
PHP3, PHP4 has grown by leaps and bounds. For more info, check out
http://www.php.net/version4/ or wait for my PHP Essentials book, due out
in April. :)
