Artem Budnikov commented on IGNITE-8090:
----------------------------------------

The size of the WAL archive can now be limited by the new parameter
(https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IGNITE-9399). I added the description to
the 2.7 version of the page:

I added the second item to a section here:
https://apacheignite.readme.io/v2.6/docs/durable-memory-tuning#section-increasing-wal-segment-size
 . [~pgarg] please review.

I think the first point is too technical for end users (introduces new details
like logical and physical records, which would have to be explained, which
would complicate things). Moreover, users do not have to do anything—Ignite
makes sure that everything is in place for both crash recovery and rebalancing.

> Explain how WAL occupies the disk space and how to enable the compaction:
> There needs to be a special section in WAL documentation as well as in the
> capacity planning.
