[~thejas], may i ask why "operations like those on partitions don't make sense
on non native tables."? non native tables are the tables use special storage
handlers, e.g., HBaseStorageHandler. This has nothing to do with the logical
table properties, e.g., whether they are partitioned or not. [~ashutoshc] is
pushing to enable every DDL on native tables to non-native tables.
