[~szehon] - I believe mvn install takes care of compiling the test classes as 
well. Verified this locally.

Thanks for pointing out the doc. Wasn't aware that the build system needs to be 
restarted to pick up such script changes. Was waiting for the next test run to 
verify that this kicks in.

Having access to the build machines would be useful.

Pipelining builds is actually fairly important - considering we spend 30 
minutes building Hive while the slaves do nothing. I agree it is longer term 
though, which is why I was trying to cut the initial build time.
