Shohei Okumiya commented on HIVE-28658: --------------------------------------- [~zratkai] [~dkuzmenko] Question. Does this make Hive, as a query engine, communicate with a catalog implementing Iceberg REST API, e.g., Apache Polaris? I'm now discussing how to let Hive communicate with a third-party catalog, such as Glue Data Catalog, to get HIVE-12679 done. I'd appreciate it if you could involve me in some design discussions. > Iceberg REST Catalog Support > ----------------------------- > > Key: HIVE-28658 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-28658 > Project: Hive > Issue Type: Improvement > Security Level: Public(Viewable by anyone) > Components: Iceberg integration > Reporter: Denys Kuzmenko > Assignee: Zoltán Rátkai > Priority: Major > > Allow Hive to communicate directly with an Iceberg catalog service using the > Iceberg REST Catalog protocol.
