Although the community still needs this, I have a personal concern. To me,
Hive seems to act as an ultimate hammer, able to communicate with hBase, Kafka,
Pig, Druid, and more, with losing focus on its core capabilities. However, too
often, the community suffers from interfering components, odd integrations, and
unexpected bugs. In my opinion, Hive should be an advanced data warehouse
component, with limited integration capabilities. If the community wants to
support it, it should provide real support, rather than just maintaining a
component that someone developed in the past and left behind.

But I understand that introducing changes can be problematic for others in
the community. It pains me to say it, but as long as someone still wants it, we
can keep it in the codebase.
